The buzz for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn (or simply Tintin for those who prefer their film titles simpler) just keeps on growing, and though we’re still months away from release, have already seen several posters, images, and a teaser trailer, we’ve now also been gifted with a newly released theatrical trailer, which can now be seen below.
Filmed using state of the art motion capture technology, Tintin looks as if it’s successfully capturing the spirit of adventure created by original Herge comics from which it’s based (specifically The Crab With the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn, and Red Rackham’s Treasure; which have been combined to create the story for the new film), and will see Tintin (voiced by The Eagle’s Jamie Bell) and his dog Snowy embarking on an adventure to discover the treasure of the mysterious pirate Red Rackham (Daniel Craig, Casino Royale).
Along the way Tintin will meet Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), deal with detectives Thompson (Simon Pegg, Paul) and Thomson (Nick Frost, Paul), and from the looks of the trailer, become involved in all manner of gunfights, car chases, hold-ups, and adventure based on land, sea, and sky.
Weta Digital have created the effects for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn; which has been directed by Jurassic Park’s Steven Spielberg and is due to be released in the UK on October 26th, before making its way to US screens on December 23rd.
