In June 2014, Tracy Morgan was involved in a devastating car accident that left him in a coma with several broken bones, and killed comedian James McNair. He was in a coma for two weeks, and in November 2014 was still undergoing rehabilitation for traumatic brain injuries and needed walking aids. He made an appearance at the Emmys recently, and The Wrap are now reporting that the comedian will make his return in feature film Fist Fight.
Fight Fight has already garnered an impressive cast, with Ice Cube (22 Jump Street), Charlie Day (Horrible Bosses), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad) and Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street) set to star. Directing will be Richie Keen, from a script by Van Robichaux and Evan Susser. Day plays a teacher who is challenged to a fist-fight with one of his colleagues, played by Ice Cube. Norris will play the school’s principal, with Bell playing a guidance counselor.
The last time Morgan was seen on the big screen was in Chris Rock’s Top Five. Fist Fight is expected to begin shooting later this month, with a possible 2016 release date.
