Despite being an eagerly awaited project, the on-again/off-again nature of the long-rumoured sequel to Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting is finally, officially, happening; as you can see by watching the newly released official teaser trailer below.
Granted, the trailer gives us no new footage, and tells us nothing of the plot, but it’s a hugely positive step; one which not only confirms filming began on May 16th, but that original cast members Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Johnny Lee Miller, and Robert Carlyle will all be returning as their respective characters Renton, Spud, Sick Boy and Begbie.
Original screenwriter John Hodge has also returned to pen the adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s sequel novel Porno, which is currently filming under the moniker T2 (we’d expect that to change before release) and is due to be released next January.
