Hot on the heels of Seven Psychopaths‘ Colin Farrell confirming he will indeed star in the planned second season of HBO’s thrilling drama True Detective, HBO have released a statement confirming Farrell will indeed be joined on screen by Dodgeball star Vince Vaughn.
While Vaughn is in place to play a criminal whose attempts to jump into legitimate business are thwarted by the death of his partner, Farrell will star as a detective who’s serving in a corrupt police force and finds himself forced to work for a local mobster, in the second season of the Emmy nominated show which will once again be written by Nic Pizzolatto, take place in a number of varying California locales, and run for eight hour-long episodes.
HBO have also confirmed Fast & Furious director Justin Lin will also helm the first two episodes of the season (though no other directors, or cast members have been officially announced as yet; meaning the likes of Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams remain in the rumour mill), which is due to start filming this autumn, and will likely premiere in mid-2015.
