After working together in Dodgeball (as bitter rivals), and Starsky & Hutch (as enemies), it looks as though Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller are set to work together again in the upcoming sci-fi comedy Neighborhood Watch; which until recently had trouble holding onto both actors, and directors.
Stiller is attached to play a city-dweller who believes his life will become an epic bore after he moves out to the suburbs, but gets a bit more than he expected when he joins the local neighbourhood watch; only to find that the local populace is plagued not by thieves or vandals, but alien invaders who are threatening to destroy the world.
Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder) has recently been hired to churn out a new draft of the script (working from the most recent draft; by The Green Hornet’s Seth Rogen, and Pineapple Express’ Evan Goldberg), which will eventually be directed by Hot Rod’s Akiva Schaffer, and could be released as early as next year.
