After rebooting the franchise with the fantastic Rise, and continuing with the equally emotive Dawn, we’re now well on course, and hugely excited, for the War For The Planet Of The Apes; the first trailer for which can now be seen below (following a selection of new images from the film).
Matt Reeves returns to the series, along with Andy Serkis (stepping back into the mo-cap suit to bring life to head ape Caesar), and will see Caesar searching for a new home for his clan whilst dealing with the fact he, himself, has broken one of the key ape rules (“ape shall not kill ape”), and gearing up for a huge fight; the scale of which we’ve yet to see in an Apes film.
Woody Harrelson (Zombieland) will be the chief antagonist, leading the charge to wipe Caesar and his clan out of existence once and for all, and joined by returning ape-stars Judy Greer, Karin Jonoval, and Terry Notary, as well as newcomer Steve Zahn (Sahara), when War For The Planet Of The Apes is released next July.
