Warner Bros. have announced that they are to make a movie based on the immensely popular game Dungeons and Dragons.
TSR’s fantastical world will be brought to life by David Leslie Johnson, also writer of the upcoming horror The Conjuring 2. Johnson has been a busy man, as Variety reports he already has a script for Dungeons and Dragons ready to go, which is based around the fantasy world of ‘Forgotten Realms’.
After months of negotiations and lawsuits, Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures and Sweetpea Entertainment have finally come to an agreement, and they will team up to produce the feature film. Also getting producing credit will be Roy Lee (The LEGO Movie, How to Train Your Dragon).
Says Courtney Solomon of Sweetpea Entertainment: “We are thrilled that this beloved property can finally make its way to the big screen after 20 years, and that it can be realised by Warner Bros., which has been responsible for the biggest fantasy franchises over the past two decades.”
