William Fichtner Joins Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie

William FicthnerWhile there may have been outrage when the originally proposed changes to the classic Turtles mythology were heard, a new, live action, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is being filmed right now, and has just had a new member added to its cast; none other than William Fichtner.

Whilst he may have appeared as satan in Drive Angry, and a rather ruthless FBI agent in Prison Break, he’s often remembered for his fairly brief but memorable role as a bank manager in The Dark Knight, and although he’s reportedly playing a character who’s “a lead with iconic stature in the Turtles’ mythology”, it’s not clear exactly who Mr. Fichtner will be playing in the new Turtles movie (though logic would suggest there’s a good chance he could be taking over from Kevin Nash and appearing as legendary baddie, Shredder).

Still, while Willy’s character is yet to be named, we already know that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) themselves will be played by Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, and Noel Fisher (who’ve all donned performance capture suits; ala Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes; for the film), while their mentor Splinter will be played by Mirror Mirror’s Danny Woodburn, and their yellow-jacketed reporter friend April O’Niel will be played by Transformers’ Megan Fox, when the Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans) directed TMNT is released on May 16th 2014 in the UK, before making its official US release date on June 6th 2014.
