While we’ve seen some concept art, an the odd image here and there, below (coming via Entertainment Weekly – who in the past week have given us images from King Arthur, The Dark Tower, and Kong: Skull Island) you’ll find the first selection of official Wonder Woman stills.
Featuring Gal Gadot (reprising her role as the titular Wonder Woman, a.k.a. Diana Prince, from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) in all her battle-ready glory, the new images offer a look at the Amazonian warrior’s updated costume, as well as Chris Pine’s (Star Trek) World War I veteran Steve Trevor.
An origin story of sorts, this stand-alone film will show us how, according to the official synopsis, “before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana princess of the Amazons, trains to be an unconquerable warrior… raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers… and her true destiny.”
Co-starring Robin Wright (State of Grace), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), David Thewlis (Dragonheart), Lucy Davis (The Office), and Ewen Bremner (Trainspotting), the Patty Jenkins (Monster) directed Wonder Woman has been shot on location in the UK, France, and Italy, and is due to be released on June 2nd 2017, in both the US and UK.
