Matt Reeves blew everyone away with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, with many considering it to be one of the best films of the year. He’s returning for War of the Planet of the Apes, and THR has announced that Woody Harrelson will star in the film.
The plot is being kept under wraps, but news is that Harrelson will be playing a villain called ‘Colonel. Andy Serkis will be reprising his motion-capture role as Caesar, and newcomer Gabriel Chavarria (Freedom Writers) will also have a part to play.
Reeves is returning to direct, as is co-writer Mark Bomback. Harrelson is currently filming presidential biopic LBJ, and he’ll be seen next in theatres in November with the release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. War of the Planet of the Apes will be released in July, 2017.
