We’re growing ever closer to seeing Fox’s limited-run revival of classic paranormal investigation TV show The X-Files hit the small screen; we’ve already seen the first few images from the show, and two extremely brief teasers (available below); and we’ve just learned it’ll see the return of former series regular Monica Reyes (played by Annabeth Gish).
Reyes was part of the show’s second investigative dup (with the other half being Agent John Dogget, played by Robert Patrick – so far not confirmed to be returning), who took centre stage when Mulder and Scully (David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson respectively) took more of a backseat in the show’s final seasons, and has been confirmed as returning for one episode during The X-Files‘ return.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are also returning of course, alongside former co-stars William B. Davis (the Smoking Man), Mitch Pileggi (Walter Skinner), Dean Haglund (Langly), Tom Braidwood (Frohike) and Bruce Harwood (Byers), and will be joined by newcomers Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under), Joel McHale (Community), and Robbie Amell (The Flash).
Fox’s six episode limited run is being presided over by original X-Files series creator Chris Carter (with backup from some of the original writing staff), and is due to air in the US on January 24th next year. No UK air date has been announced as yet, though given
