Fans of the original TV series, films and franchise in generally will be overjoyed to hear that Mitch Pileggi will once again be reprising his role as Walter Skinner for Fox’s planned TV revival of classic sci-fi series The X-Files (as seen by his announcement via Twitter – available to view below).
Returning for a special event series, the one-off run of six brand new episodes is set to start filming this summer and see David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning to the roles which made them household names across the globe (Mulder and Scully respectively), and while there’s relatively little known about the return at this point, returning showrunner/creator Chris Carter will be heavily involved with the comeback and has said “I think of it as a 13-year commercial break… the good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”

Very happy to announce that Walter Skinner will once again be getting all grumpy and bitchy with his two wayward kids. Very happy.
