Following on from the first image and teaser posters, we now have an official teaser trailer for David Brent: Life On The Road – the upcoming film/The Office spin-off following the endeavours of former Wernham Hogg manager David Brent, as he attempts to become a successful singer/songwriter.
Ricky Gervais is returning to play his most prolific character to date; resurrecting Brent over 10 years after The Office closed its doors (with a Christmas Special in 2003), though not for the first time, as Brent has appeared in Charity specials, the US version of The Office, and other small videos. He’ll now be back, in this new mockumentary, hoping to hit the big time with a self-funded rock tour of the UK with his band Foregone Conclusion.
Sadly co-writer/director Stephen Merchant hasn’t been involved with the film, but Gervais, as well as taking the leading role, has both written and directed David Brent: Life On The Road and is aiming to have it in cinemas on August 19th.
