The Flash finds his Flashpoint directors

A fan favourite of the Justice League, The Flash hasn’t been able to gain much traction for his planned solo outing thus far; with a number of scripts, and directors, coming and going; but the future of Ezra Miller’s Scarlet Speedster is now looking brighter, as Vacation directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are close to a deal.

Should the pair sign-on it’d be a smart bet to expect a lighter tone than some of DC’s other big screen outings (given their other work includes writing credits on Spider-Man: Homecoming, and upcoming Jason Bateman comedy Game Night), which should suit the current take on Barry Allen perfectly.

The latest draft of the script was completed by Joby Harold (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) , though Daley and Goldstein will undoubtedly have their own input on the film which given the title; Flashpoint; will likely involve Barry making a mess of the DC timeline, and struggling to put things right, by returning from a universe on the cusp of all-out war.

Billy Crudup is set to return as Barry’s father, and cameos from both Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, are expected when Warn Bros. and DC release Flashpoint at some point in 2020.
