Following the glorious (though rather ill-fated) last stand of the 300 Spartans, the upcoming film 300: Rise Of An Empire will tell the tale of what happened after that infamous battle; and you can now see a selection of images and the newly released 300: Rise Of An Empire trailer below.
With Lena Headey (Dredd) reprising her role as the Spartan queen, and Sullivan Stapleton (Strike Back) vowing to seek vengeance for the loss of her husband, and his kinsmen, Rise Of An Empire will not only see the remaining Spartan army attempting to defeat the invading Persian army, but also delve into an origin story for the Persian leader Xeres (Rodrigo Santoro, The Last Stand), and explore how he was first influenced by the dark naval commander Artemisia (Eva Green, Casino Royale).
Co-starring Jack O’Connell (Harry Brown), Scott Burn (Couple’s Retreat), Hans Matheson (Clash of the Titans), and David Wenham (The Lord of the Rings), 300: Rise Of An Empire has been directed by relative unknown Noam Murro (Smart People), and is due to be released on March 7th 2014 in both the US and UK.
