Wrestler, film-star, and larger than life cultural icon Andre the Giant will soon be the subject of an upcoming biopic led by his real-life daughter Robin Christensen-Roussimoff.
Due to be based on the authorised graphic novel Andre The Giant: Closer To Heaven, chronicling Andre’s life from family farm-hand to WWF superstar, producer Scott Steindorff believes “there’s an Elephant Man story here” as outside the limelight Andre was “suffering from the painful health condition of gigantism.”
So far there’s no one attached to star as Andre The Giant, and no director or writers linked to the project, but we’d imagine this one would get picked up pretty soon; as even 23 years after his death Andre has a legion of fans who adore him.
