Anne Hathaway Injures Stuntman on The Dark Knight Rises Set

As most film fans know by now, filming is currently underway on The Dark Knight Rises; the third, and final, Batman movie from Christopher Nolan (Inception); and it seems as though the action is getting off to a gritty, and fairly rough start, as one stuntman has already come away from a scene with an injury.

The stunman’s injury came not as a result of fighting the Batman (who’s once again being portrayed by The Fighter’s Christian Bale), Bane (the villain who’s being played by Bronson’s Tom Hardy), or having a questionable incident with a stunt car, but during a sequence in which he was fighting opposite Anne Hathaway (the Alice in Wonderland star who’s appearing as Selina Kyle/Catwoman); who reportedly got so into the action she “jammed the butt of her gun into the stunt actor’s eye socket” with a great deal of force, turning half his face black and blue.

While the stunt actor isn’t seriously harmed, and is reported to have remained in “good humour” a source is quoted as saying that he “took quite a pummeling”, and as Anne was “mortified”; though she too approached the incident with a sense of humour, buying the stunt actor a silver pen with the engraving “Remember no one packs a punch like Anne.”

The Dark Knight Rises is currently filming in London, will shortly move to Scotland, and then a number of other locations including Pittsburgh, and will also star Michael Caine (Harry Brown), Morgan Freeman (Bruce Almighty), Gary Oldman (Leon), Joseph Gordon Levitt (Inception), and Marion Cotillard (Public Enemies), when it’s released on July 20th 2012.
