Production has just started on the upcoming British vampire thriller Eat Local; the directorial debut of Jason Flemyng (X-Men: First Class, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), which is due to star Daredevil‘s own Charlie Cox.

Written by Danny King (Wild Bill), and co-starring Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean), Dexter Fletcher (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Ruth Jones (Gavin & Stacey), and Annette Crosbie (Into the Woods), Eat Local sees an Essex boy getting more than he bargained for when a night of promised passion at a remote farmhouse leads to him meeting a coven of hungry vampires, and getting caught in the middle of an inter-species war when a band of heavily armed vampire hunters crash the party.

Filming now in Hertfordshire, Eat Local will wrap next month, before going up for sale at the forthcoming European Film Market, and as Jason Flemyng has said it’s “been 10 years in the making”, is “better than I could have imagined”, and is “thrilled” it’s come together, it should be one to look out for when a release date is eventually announced.
