Clearly a man in huge demand at the moment (not only being secured for the now confirmed Pacific Rim 2, but playing the next King Arthur in Guy’s Ritchie’s Knights of the Round Table, and topping the wishlist for the planned Escape From New York remake) Charlie Hunnam is obviously looking to capitalise on the freedom he’ll have once the final season of Sons of Anarchy (premiering in the US this week) finishes, and is in talks to join yet another movie; The Mountain Between Us.
Wolf Of Wall Street star Margot Robbie (who’s also seen her career explode of late; currently filming the upcoming Tarzan movie, taking the lead in DreamWorks’ Ghost in The Shell, and having already filmed both Z For Zachariah and Focus) is also in talks for the film, which will find the pair as two strangers (Margot; a writer; and Hunnam; a doctor and avid climber) who charter a private flight (after their commercial one is cancelled), only to have the pilot suffer a mid-air heart attack and crash the plane, leaving them stranded of a desolate snowy mountain.
Dubbed as both a harrowing tale of survival and a deep love story, The Mountain Between Us is being adapted from Charles Martin’s book of the same name, with Minority Report’s Scott Frank having polished the latest version of the script, for Hany Abu-Assad (Paradise Now) to direct ahead of an as yet unannounced release date.
