It was a long while before we saw anything Dredd related, other than a couple of promotional stills, but now, as the release date begins to dart ever closer, we’ve not only been treated to a full trailer, but a newly released motion poster (now available to view below).
Starring Karl Urban (Star Trek) as the titular future lawman Judge Dredd (the best loved, and most iconic, character from the 2000AD comics), Dredd is hoping to kick-start a franchise with the Pete Travis (Vantage Point) directed film that finds him, and rookie Judge Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby, Juno) trapped in a 200-floor skyscraper, looking for notorious drug-peddler Ma-Ma (Lena Headey, Game of Thrones).
Scripted by Alex Garland (28 Days Later), Dredd co-stars Domhnall Gleeson (True Grit), and will be presented via a preview screening at Comic-Con on July 11th, ahead of its official release date of September 7th in the UK, and September 21st in the US.
