After the success of the recent disaster movie Godzilla (which we said “proves once again that Godzilla is the King of Monsters“) ; a Gareth Edwards reboot, and not a sequel to Roland Emmerich’s effort, it should come as no surprise that a sequel is not only in the works, but now has an official release date.
Gareth Edwards will be returning to direct the giant lizard once again, and hinted at Comic-Con that he’s already been thinking of ideas (which could involve monsters Motha, Rodan and Ghidorah jumping into the frey), but as he’s currently busy developing a Star Wars spin-off, it’s not likely to come as soon as fans may like; currently slated for released on June 8th 2018.
