While many people may have argued the Jack Reacher trailer didn’t exactly have the feel of a true Jack Reacher tale, and still adamantly oppose the casting of Mission: Impossible‘s Tom Cruise as the famed six-foot-plus powerhouse described in Lee Child’s series of novels, there’s no denying that the Jack Reacher movie is inching ever closer to the big screen (with Tom Cruise in the lead role); as evident by the newly released stills from the film available to view below.
Christopher McQuarrie (Valkyrie) has adapted the screenplay from the first novel in Lee Child’s Reacher series (entitled One Shot), and finds ex-military wanderer Reacher investigating the seemingly open-and-shut case of a sniper who’s apparently shot five victims, yet claims he’s completely innocent.
Joseph Sikora (Safe) is set to play the accused man, alongside co-stars Rosamund Pike (Surrogates), Richard Jenkins (Hall Pass), Robert Duvall (Crazy Heart), and Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), in the Christopher McQuarrie directed film which is due to be released on December 21st in the US and on December 26th (Boxing Day) in the UK.
