Liam Neeson Would Join The Arrow Cast ‘In A Heartbeat.’

Liam NeesonSpeaking to MTV recently regarding his upcoming action/thriller A Walk Among The Tombstones, Liam Neeson was quizzed about one of his more memorable recent characters, and the possibility of appearing as Ra’s al Ghul again; something he said he’d be willing to do “in a heartbeat” given the opportunity.

Having appeared as the infamous, and sometimes immortal (according to certain comic-book storylines), Batman villain Ra’s al Ghul in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy (being the main bad guy in Batman Begins and reprising the role for a brief hallucination during The Dark Knight Rises), it was never likely that we would see Neeson reprising the role of the villain with a twisted set of morals (who’s plans always tend to involve stamping out all evil by massacring everyone in sight and starting again), but as it’s now been confirmed Ra’s al Ghul will be the main bad guy in Arrow season 3, it was the perfect time to quiz Neeson about joining the show.

Strangely, despite the season premiere of Arrow being just over a month away we still don’t know who will be playing the iconic villain, though we do know it unfortunately won’t be Neeson; as when asked if he’d been approached about the role he simply said “No, I haven’t, I haven’t at all”, before adding that were he asked he “would [reprise the role] in a heartbeat.”

Though whilst Neeson may appear extremely keen (“very much so”), it’s highly unlikely he’ll be appearing as Ra’s al Ghul again, and particularly not in the upcoming third season of Arrow; not only because the TV universe has so far been kept very separate from DC’s movie universe, but Neeson is a busy man, and with the third season airing in just over a month, you’d have to believe whoever’s been playing Ra’s has already shot one or two scenes by now.

Arrow season three will premiere in the US on October 8th, and Liam Neeson’s new movie A Walk Among The Tombstones will be released on September 18th in the UK, before making its official US release date on September 19th.
