Location of Next Top Gear Special Announced

Numbered in their millions worldwide, Top Gear fans eagerly await the arrival of the winter series, and Christmas special, every year, and lead presenter Jeremy Clarkson has just let slip a few details about this year’s planned special; namely that it will take place in India.

Clarkson recently said of the special’s location (which is due to be shot in the next couples of weeks); “we always keep it a secret each year, then I like to blow it”; adding that they are planning to “just film and film and film”, and suggested that he planned to keep making Top Gear for as long as possible; when asked if there was an end in sight, and he replied “I hope not.”

Jeremy also believes that with 350 million viewers Top Gear has legs to carry it on past the time he and co-presenters Richard Hammond and James May leave the show; believing “it’ll be like Doctor Who, and there will be three new guys in there”; but also stated that he would still like to see Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie race around the Top Gear Test Track for the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car feature before then, even though he deems it “impossible.”

Top Gear will return to BBC2 this December, with its 18th series, and a Christmas special taking place in India, and will likely make news headlines week-by-week again for a number of mild controversies which Clarkson feels always get blown out of proportion; as “when there’s two complaints out of five or six million people, it’s not really sparking fury; a couple of people get mildly irritated, and you learn to ignore it.”
