Lone Ranger’s First Image

It was an on-again-off-again story for a while but, now that the budget has been successfully reigned in to an amount that Disney feels is acceptable, production has begun on Gore Verbinski’s (Pirates of the Caribbean) upcoming adaptation of the classic western tale of The Lone Ranger; as seen by the recent release of the film’s first image (now available to view below).

Featuring Armie Hammer (The Social Network) donning the iconic eye-mask of the titular hero John Reid (better known as The Lone Ranger), and Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean) in the full garb of his rather unique take on Reid’s classic sidekick; the Native American Tonto; the newly released image provides little information about the film, but does amp-up the anticipation for the Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean) produced movie, which will star William Fichtner (Drive Angry); as bad guy Butch Cavendish; alongside Helena Bonham Carter (Alice in Wonderland), Tom Wilkinson (Batman Begins), Barry Pepper (Saving Private Ryan), James badge Dale (The Departed), James Frain (Tron: Legacy), and Ruth Wilson (Luther), and is due to be released on May 31st in both the US and UK.
