Mad Max Trilogy Incoming

Even though the upcoming Mad Max reboot has suffered its fair of problems that doesn’t seem to have disheartened writer/director George Miller (who was responsible for the original Mel Gibson movies); as he’s just revealed Mad Max: Fury Road will simply be the first in a planned trilogy of films.

Doug Mitchell (who’ll be producing Fury Road along with Miller) confirmed that although they “never intended to” originally, they have already “written the script for the second, and almost finished the third”, which will follow on from the film he confirms will be “massive” and have a much larger budget than any of its predecessors; stating “people have speculated around $200million, which I’d neither deny nor confirm.”

There’s still relatively little known about the film, though it still appears as if Tom Hardy (Warrior), Charlize Theron (Monster), Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class), and Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) are still attached to star in the movie which currently has a video game in development by Team Bondi (the studio behind LA Noire, which is now part of Kennedy Miller Mitchell Interactive), and will see a good chunk of its production moving from Australia to Namibia (since unprecedented rains turned the wasteland of the Broken Hill desert into a flower-filled paradise).
