While perhaps better known as Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill has lent his vocal talents to differing animated versions of Batman super-villain The Joker since the inception of Batman: The Animated Series in the early 1990s. His playfully twisted vocals have since become synonymous with the Clown Prince Of Crime’s animated portrayals (in both series’, animated films, and video games) and so fans were delighted to hear both Hamill and regular Batman voiceover artist Kevin Conroy would be reprising their roles for the feature length animated movie of renowned graphic novel The Killing Joke, and even more delighted when yesterday Hamill Tweeted the first image from the film.
Written as a stand-alone graphic novel by Alan Moore (who actually considers it one of his lesser works), The Killing Joke sees The Joker attempting to drive Commissioner Gordon insane in an abandoned funhouse, and even provides a number of flashbacks showings up The Joker’s origins.
The Killing Joke will have its world premiere at Comic-Con, before heading to Blu-ray and DVD late summer.
