Based on James Dashner’s novel of the same name, The Maze Runner sees a young boy finding himself placed within a community of similar boys, after having his memory erased, and learning he’s trapped in an ever-changing maze which will require him to join forces with the others in order to attempt a daring escape. As seen in the two exclusive clips from The Maze Runner available below.
Celebrating the DVD and Blu-ray release of The Maze Runner (on February 9th) our exclusive clips feature a brand new arrival to the maze, and a brief looking at the making of the film, and the decision to cast Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien as Thomas; the lead in the film, and the boys’ best chance of salvation.
Both a critical and Box Office success The Maze Runner is the latest answer to The Hunger Games franchise; building an extremely impressive and intriguing new world, where a group of youngsters must struggle to survive whilst also figuring out what has happened to them and why; in a film which has a refreshingly dark tone for a teen movie, and proves to be far more interesting than most adaptations of young-adult books.
With a huge Box Office gross of $340 million worldwide (against a mere $34 million budget), work has already begun on the sequel; with The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials scheduled to be released on September 18th in both the US and UK; making now an excellent time to catch-up with, or revisit the exciting first chapter in The Maze Runner saga.
The Maze Runner is out now on Digital HD and on Blu-ray and DVD on 9 February from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment
