Michael Cera To Voice Lego Batman’s Robin

Given the Lego series has always painted The Boy Wonder, Batman’s sidekick, Robin as something of a child-like, eager, yet thoroughly incompetent, buffoon there could really be no better voice casting for him than that of Scott Pilgrim‘s Michael Cera.

Cera’s casting in the Lego Batman movie (a spin-off of the hugely successful, yet Oscar snubbed, The Lego Movie) is even more fitting when you realise Batman was voiced by the gravelly and charismatic Will Arnett; who plays Cera’s uncle in the hit TV show Arrested Development.

With a script coming from Seth Grahame-Smith (the Dark Shadows/Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter writer who’s also working on the script for Beetlejuice 2), and Chris McKay (The Lego Movie editor) directing, Lego Batman is being produced by Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and is due to be released on February 10th 2017 in both the US and UK.
