Passion Play; a film noir style tale of love and redemption; starring Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), Megan Fox (Transformers), and Bill Murray (Ghostbusters) has recently had its first trailer released online (now available to view below).
Written and directed by Mitch Glazer (The Recruit), Passion Play casts Rourke as a washed up Jazz musician named Nate Pool, a man who is tasked with delivering a carnival sideshow attraction named Lily; a mysterious and beautiful creature (played by Megan Fox); to a ruthless gangster named Happy Shannon (Murray), but soon decides to betray Shannon as he and Lily fall madly in love.
Kelly lynch (Charlie’s Angels) and Rhys Ifans (Mr Nice) co-star in the film that’s not had an easy time finding distribution, and has openly been called it “another terrible movie”, blaming the limited release it has gained (opening in New york and Los Angeles on May 6th) on its poor quality. Passion Play still doesn’t have a confirmed release date in the UK.
