Reboot for Lionsgate’s Leprechauns

With every Irishman, and wannabe Irishman, quietly awaiting the impending St Patrick’s Day celebrations, Lionsgate have showed their collective support for the month of Guinness, and announced their plans to reboot the classic Leprechaun horror series.

Originally released back in 1993, Leprechaun starred Jennifer Aniston (before Friends), alongside Life Too Short‘s Warwick Davis; who played the murderous Leprechaun that appeared in each of the franchise’s five instalments, and not only became a rap-mogul, but even went into space.

As often there’s no-one attached to play the titular hat-wearing, gold-obsessed, serial killer, or direct the new take on Leprechaun; which forms part of a two-picture deal between Lionsgate and WWE Studios, and already has a 2013 release date locked in place.
