Rose Byrne Returns For X-Men: Apocalypse

Rose Byrne X-Men First Class 01While she may have been absent for X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Moira MacTaggert (Rose Byrne) was a pretty important player in the events of X-Men: First Class, and according to recent reports is set to return to the mutant world in the upcoming X-Men movie X-Men: Apocalypse.

Coming from writer Simon Kinberg (via Entertainment Weekly), news has emerged which states Moira will be “a significant character in the movie” and that, as she finished First Class by having her memory wiped, the X-Men “are essentially strangers to her when she meets them.”

Whilst Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will not be returning for the next outing, Apocalypse will be the third film in the prequel trilogy (following First Class, and Days Of Future Past), set in the 1980s, and see returning stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence (as Professor Xavier, Magneto, and Mystique respectively) taking on a hugely dangerous mutant enemy known as Apocalypse (played by Ex_Machina’s Oscar Isaac).

Following recent announcements, we also know that franchise newcomers Sophie Turner (Game Of Thrones), Tye Sheridan (Mud), and Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah) will also be joining the fray (as Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Storm respectively) when the Bryan Singer (X-Men regular) directed X-Men: Apocalypse begins filming shortly in Montreal, ahead of a planned UK release on May 19th 2016, and official US release date of may 27th 2016.
