Sean Hayes Cast as Larry in The Three Stooges Movie

While they’ve hinted at producing a sequel to Dumb and Dumber, Peter and Bobby Farrelly (who’s latest movie; Hall Pass; is still doing the rounds at cinemas nationwide) are hard at work prepping their next comedy outing; a big screen adaptation of classic comedy The Three Stooges; and have just cast Sean hayes as one of the film’s three leads.

Hayes; best known for playing the titular Will, in popular sitcom Will and Grace; won the part of Larry from a huge number of potential candidates, and interviewees, thanks to his ability to embody the character’s loveable yet simple nature, and will eventually be joining Will Sasso’s (Life As We Know It) Curly in the adaptation many Stooges fans remain tentative about seeing.

Still needing an actor to play Moe, the Farrelly brothers are well aware of the weight of the task in front of them; after spending over 12 years attempting to get their film up and running; and recently confirmed that while the film will be a new take on Stooges comedy (rather than a biopic on the lives of the Stooges) intended to introduce a new audience to their work, they understand its magnitude, and have stated that “it’s the riskiest project we’ve ever done, but it’s also the closest to our hearts”, and that it will be not only “85 minutes of laughs” but “a film that will be very respectful to who the Stooges were.”
