A beloved, and often exceedingly dark and gritty, comic book series, Preacher will soon be making its way to the small screen courtesy of show writer/producer Seth Rogen, Rogen’s regular writing partner Evan Goldberg, and breaking bad alum Sam Catlin, and you can now get a close look at one of the show’s key characters thanks to the Tweet available on the right; introducing Arseface.

For those who don’t know, Arseface (due to be played by Ian Coletti) ended up with his moniker after an unsuccessful suicide attempt left him with an unusual deformity, and following an epiphany which led to a more positive outlook on life he becomes a key player in the adventures of the titular preacher; Jesse Custer (played by Dominic Cooper) a Texas clergyman, with a dark past and a love of John Wayne movies, who ends up as powerful as God himself when he gets bonded with the offspring of an angel and a demon (a creature known as Genesis), but quickly ends up with a host of problems.

With an assassin ex-girlfriend (played by Ruth Negga) and a new friend who just happens to be a vampire (played by Joseph Gilgud) in tow, Jesse crosses paths with saints, serial killers, and a host of interesting and unusual characters as he attempts to learn both why he’s been given such power, and why God seems to have abandoned his kingdom.

AMC will air the Preacher premiere on May 23rd in the US, and while there’s been no official announcement as yet it is expected to air on AMC Global in the UK shortly thereafter.
