Despite being teased in the first season of Supergirl, there were only ever distant, fleeting, and not entirely necessary glimpses of Supergirl’s more famous cousin Superman, yet it appears things may change as casting for a small-screen Superman is now underway.
While initially pulling away from the idea of adding Superman into the show – in a bid to keep the focus on Melissa Bonoist’s Kara – producers think the time is now right for Clark Kent and the Man of Steel to appear, and possibly guest in a number of Supergirl episodes, providing Kara with whatever help and/or wisdom she may need.
The change of heart may have also come now Supergirl is officially changing networks – heading to the CW and opening up a planned four-way mega-crossover with Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.
