Taken 2 Plot Details and Release Date

1

Fans have been waiting for a sequel to emerge ever since Taken was released back in 2008, and as this year’s Unknown (which also placed Liam Neeson in the lead role as a grumbly action-man) couldn’t live up to the Luc Besson (Leon)/Robert Mark Kamen (The Fifth Element) written Taken, fans should be suitably pleased to know that Taken 2 is definitely moving ahead, and has just found its villain; Snatch’s Rade Sherbedgia.

After flying to Paris and subsequently murdering everyone who ever looked at his daughter a bit sideways; not to mention those who kidnapped her and tried to not only get her hooked on drugs, but sell her into the illegal underground sex trade; Bryan Mills (Neeson) will see his family hit hard in the upcoming sequel; as the father of one of the kidnappers he offed decides it’s time for a spot of revenge, and kidnaps both Bryan and his ex-wife (Famke Janssen, X-Men).

Taken 2 will then see a pretty dramatic role-reversal as Bryan ends up the victim (though he’s unlikely to simply sit back and play the damsel in distress), and it falls to his daughter Grace to rescue him (possibly giving Maggie Grace an excuse to practice gun assembly in her underwear once again; as she did in Faster), in the Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3) directed film that’s due to be released on October 5th 2012.
