Three bird watchers compete to spot the rarest birds in North America (during a prestigious annual event) in The Big Year; the upcoming comedy starring Steve Martin (Planes, Trains, & Automobiles), Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda), and Owen Wilson (Marley and Me), which has just had its first trailer released online (now available to view below).
While the three companions enter the event together they do so for a variety of different reasons; Martin is approaching retirement and wants to enjoy the experience while he can, Black simply has no life and wants to do something, and Wilson is in the midst of a mid-life crisis; and all aim to cross a number of items off their respective bucket-lists while on their trip.
The Big Year actually looks to play out like a cross between The Bucket List, and Planes, Trains, & Automobiles; with a number of comedy moments thrown around a selection of life-lessons, that’s been directed by Marley and Me’s David Frankel, and is due to be released on October 14th in the US, before making its way into UK theaters on November 11th.
