The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Poster

Filming began back in May, and while there have been a couple of unofficial on set videos leaked, and a possible teaser trailer, until now the only official release we had from the camp of The Dark Knight Rises was a promotional image of Tom Hardy as Bat-villain Bane, until now; as the first official teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises has just been released online, and is now available to view below (and can be clicked to be viewed in full size).

While it’s certainly eye-catching, the new poster (which features the Bat-logo atop an apparently crumbling Gotham City) doesn’t give anything away, and ensures that the film’s plot is still remaining tightly under lock and key, and will do at least until the official release of Harry potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2; which is supposed to be preceded by the first teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises.

Promising to be the last Batman movie in Christopher Nolan’s current run (much to the dismay of many a fan), The Dark Knight Rises will bring back several returning actors; including Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Nestor Carbonell; several actors who worked with Nolan on Inception; including Hardy, Marion Cotillard, and Joseph Gordon Levitt; and a number of newcomers; including Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket), Josh Pence (The Social Network), and Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

The Dark Knight Rises is due to be released on July 20th 2012, but we can expect plenty more posters, images, trailers, and rumours to surface before then.
