Following the success of last years low-budget, yet infinitely interesting, and surprisingly chilling, horror movie The Purge, a sequel was all but inevitable, and moved into produced swiftly after its release. Now, following a recent teaser, you can see the full trailer for The Purge: Anarchy below.
Starring Frank Grillo (Warrior), Anarchy takes places in the same futuristic world as The Purge; where, in an effort to curb crime, the government holds an annual “purge” where all laws are suspend, all emergency services cancelled, and everything and anything is legal, for one night a year; and this time follows a vengeful man (Grillo) as he heads out for night of soul-cleansing, but soon ends up helping a stranded young couple who’re being hunted by masked psychos.
Written and directed by James DeMonaco (writer and director of The Purge), The Purge: Anarchy is due to be released on July 18th in the US, before making its official UK release date on July 25th.
