Despite all the talk of the third outing in the Toy Story franchise (aptly titled Toy Story 3) being the last film in the series, and likely the last time we would ever see Woody, Buzz, and the rest of Andy’s toys on the big screen, we already know that a number of Pixar shorts involving the studios most beloved characters will be accompanying some of their newer releases, and now have word that a fourth film could be in the works.
Pixar aren’t shy about making sequel to their films; they’ve already made three Toy Story movies, currently have Cars 2 on release nationwide, and are working on a Monster Inc. prequel; but as the tale of the toys that come to life when no-ones looking seemed to reach such a fitting end, everyone was inclined to believe that particular series had reached its conclusion; until one of the main stars (Colin Hanks; the voice of Woody) suggested on BBC Breakfast that a fourth film is already being worked on.
Obviously not offering up a great deal of information, Hanks merely stated that he “thinks it’s happening”, before adding that “they’re working on it currently”, the main question at the minute however, is that even though cinemas will undoubtedly be packed upon the release of the toys next outing, do we need another sequel? and as Toy Story 3 ended so perfectly, do we really want one?
