While we’ve seen several little snippets of footage, teaser posters and more, Transformers: Dark of the Moon; the third film in the Transformers series; has just had it’s first trailer released online (which is now available to view below); a trailer packed with action, CG robots, explosions, and a panicking Shia LaBeouf.

Last seen in Wall Street 2, Shia LaBeouf will be returning to the Transformers franchise once again as Sam Witwicky, and becoming heavily involved in another mechanical battle; as the evil Decepticons launch an unprecedented attack on Earth, and the US Government (who neglected to tell anyone that they had discovered a crashed Cybertronian spaceship on the moon some years ago) swiftly call upon the Autobots for help.

Josh Duhamel (Life As We Know It) will also be returning to the franchise, and starring alongside Ken Jeong (The Hangover), Patrick Dempsey (Enchanted), John Malkovich (Red), and Victoria’s Secret model Rosie HuntingtonWhitely; who replacing Megan Fox, and appearing as Sam’s new squeeze, Carly (who by the look of things seems to get herself into a fair bit of trouble).

Director Michael Bay (Pearl Harbor) has promised that Dark of the Moon will not only be much better than Revenge of the Fallen, but provide a much more streamlined story and enjoyable experienced, when it becomes the first film in the franchise to be released in 3D (and feature the voice of Leonard Nimoy), when it reaches its theatrical release date in both the US and UK on July 1st.
