After causing a storm at CinemaCon (where director Olivia Wilde, presenting on stage, was unceremoniously served with custody papers from ex-husband Jason Sudeikis) , the official trailer for upcoming thriller Don’t Worry Darling has just been released online.
Harry Styles (the One Direction singer seen in Dunkirk and Eternals), and Florence Pugh (Black Widow) headline the film, which director and co-star Wilde (Booksmart) has described as being reminiscent of “Inception, The Matrix, and The Truman Show.” Where 1950s suburban housewives appear to have an idyllic lifestyle, serving their husbands endeavours in the mysterious ‘Victory Project’, as long as they do as they’re told and stay home.
Don’t Worry Darling then sees Pugh’s character attempts to lift the veneer off her apparently perfect life, in the film which co-stars Chris Pine (Wonder Woman), and Gemma Chan (Eternals), and is due to be released on 23 September.
