Louis Leterrier Frontrunner To Direct Fast X

Since ‘creative differences’ led Justin Lin to step down from directing the upcoming tenth film in the Fast and Furious franchise; Fast X; just days into production, Universal have been clamouring to find a replacement, and reportedly have landed on their choice for the role; Louis Leterrier.

Leterrier, The Incredible Hulk / Now You See Me director, hasn’t closed a deal so far as scheduling needs to be confirmed, although given the importance of Fast X, and the positive working relationship he has with Universal Chief Donna Langley, it shouldn’t be long before things are official.

Lin remains onboard as a producer, and with production already underway in London; where Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and the rest of the core Fast and Furious cast are being joined by newcomers Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Brie Larson (Captain Marvel); and second-unit footage wrapping up, Fast X should still be on course to make its scheduled release date of 19 May 2023.
