Mad Max Films Next Month

Despite star Tom Hardy (the Warrior actor who’ll soon be taking up the reigns from previous star Mel Gibson) recently telling Empire Magazine that it looked liked filming on Mad Max: Fury Road had been delayed indefinitely, it looks as if things have suddenly been kicked into gear; as co-star Charlize Theron (Prometheus) recently told Shock Till You Drop that filming is starting as early as next month.

Theron told the people over at Shock that she’s “very excited about it”, and as “it’s been three years; it’s time to skin this cat already.” After the unexpectedly huge rainfall turned the original Australian desert locations into lush lands populated with all kinds of flowers and wilderness (a stark opposition from the wasteland needed for a Mad Max movie), production was delayed, everything that had been built ready for production lay motionless and wasted, and now the entire production has been moved to Africa; with Theron saying she sets off to begin filming in Nambia in only three weeks.

Mad Max regular George Miller is once again directing the movie which will hopefully kick-start another planned trilogy, and, if all previous casting announcements still apply, will co-star Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class), Zoe Kravitz (X-Men: First Class), and Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), when it eventually hits the big screen.
