Welcome to People is a family drama; directed and co-written by Alex Kurtzman (co-writer of both Star Trek and Cowboys & Aliens); about a businessman who returns home after the death of his estranged father, to find that his family has grown by one alcoholic sister, and her 12-year-old son.
Unstoppable’s Chris Pine is attached to play the businessman, with Wilde picking up the part of his on-screen girlfriend Hannah; a woman who will likely end up clashing with his new sister (who is being played by her The Next Three Days co-star Elizabeth Banks).
Welcome to People is still without an official release date, however production is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles later this month, meaning that a release date in the latter half of the year, or beginning of 2012, is entirely possible.
