While Audrey Niffenegger’s beloved sci-fi/romance novel The Time Traveler’s Wife has already been adapted for the big screen (and reviewed by us here), it will soon be heading to the small screen, courtesy of a new series developed by Niffengegger and Doctor Who and Sherlock writer Steven Moffat.

Telling the story of star-crossed lovers Henry (Theo James, Divergent), and Clare (Rose Leslie, Game of Thrones), who’s unusual romance involves her time traveling husband constantly disappearing and zipping both forward and backward in time; popping in-and-out unexpectedly and always keeping Clare wondering when, or even if, she will see her husband again.

Directed by David Nutter (The Pacific), the six episode series has been produced by Warner Bros. and HBO, and is due to premiere next month; as The Time Traveler’s Wife airs exclusively on Sky Atlantic, and streaming service NOW, in the U.K. on 16 May (following the official release date of 15 May, on HBO, in the U.S.).
